The detailed notes
page actually makes a few good points and it has
links to additional pages that cover the material in Chapter 4.
Those additional pages are
- A page walking through doing a linear
programming problem, in 2-dimensions, by graphing
on a calculator: Linear Programming by Hand
- A page walking through using the Simplex Method
to solve a linear programming problem in two dimensions.
- A page that has links to solutions for many different
two dimensional Linear Programming problems:
Examples of Basic Simplex Method.
- A page introducing walking through the use of the SM3 program on the
TI=83/84 calculators: Simplex Example.
- A page with numerous links to other examples Simplex Method.
Each example could be followed on a TI-83/84 calculator using the SM3 program:
Numerous Simplex Examples.
On the other hand, here is a listing of the topics covered in
Chapter 5. Later, as time permits, some of these
will be changed to hold links to web pages detailing the
specific topic.
- Simple interest formula:
I = P*R*T
- Multi-letter variables:
FV = PV * I
or FV = PV(1+R*T)
- Present value, Future value
- Solving for each variable
- Compound Interest
- Solving for each variable
- Effective rate
- Using TVM (time value of money)
- Using the FINANCL program
