Preliminary Evaluation

The Preliminary Evaluation given in class last week indicates whether you should remain in CIS 110 or transfer to a different level CIS class. You should have received email with your score and a recommendation; if not, ask me. Your score falls into one of three general levels:

019 (Sec. 6)
029 (Sec. 7)
Beginning students You are unlikely to do well in CIS 110 and should transfer either to CIS 099 or CIS 100.
2029 (Sec. 6)
3039 (Sec. 7)
Skill-building students You lack some of the skill needed for success in CIS 110, but you may stay in the class if you agree to do extra assignments to help you catch up.
3050 (Sec. 6)
4050 (Sec. 7)
Qualified students You have a good or fairly good background and don't need to do extra assignments, though in some cases you'll want to brush up on some aspects of Excel on your own.
