Chester served
as a base for our day trip to Wales and Conwy
Castle!
Downtown Chester.
Our "cozy" hostel.
There was a cool patio area - which was perfect for
nerds!
And a pub across the street!
Chester also has the remains of a Roman
amphitheater.
But the main attraction was across the border in
Wales - what everyone agreed was the coolest, most
castle-like castle they'd ever seen!
Our first sight walking up to the town
walls...LATRINES!
That didn't stop some of us from running up and
"hugging" one of the towers!
We explored every inch of the castle! In fact,
some of us visited it TWICE that day!
A view of the interior of the castle from one of the
towers.
A bunch of us climbed to the top of one of the
highest towers!
We LOVED every second of it!
In fact, unlike at Stonehenge, nothing at Conwy was
fenced off. There were simply warning signs
everywhere.
They let us explore wherever we wanted!
We just had to mind our head!
And our butts!
Especially our butts!
But those warning signs didn't stop us from getting
some great pictures! Like the various bridges
crossing the river.
And they didn't stop us from a bit of hijinks!
And murder-hole mayhem!
And fireplace lurking?!?
We also walked the glorious town walls!
And we ate lunch at one of the best fish and chip
shops in the world!
We also walked around on the quay by the river.
And we even found the smallest house in Great
Britain!
