To get the version of the operating system on Windows 7, click on the
Start button.
That will open a panel
similar to the one shown to the right.
Notice that there is a "link", on the right side of that panel, to the "Computer". I have drawn a box around that link. Point to that link and "right click" on it. This will open the option box shown in Figure&2. |

In the option box shown in Figure 2, point to and click on the "Properties" option, shown
in the green box in Figure 2.
This will open a new window, similar to the one shown in FIgure 3. |

The window shown in FIgure 3 displays the type of operating system on the computer.
I have drawn a green box around the portion of the display that designates the type of operating
system.
Once you have determined the 32-bit or 64-bit version you can close that window. |
