Website
Written Plan, Sitemap, Sketches, Storyboards
Final Project (Project 3)
20 points
Due: April 7
- class discussion/critique on that day
The purpose of this assignment is to help you plan the details of your
proposed web site. These materials will literally function as a textual
and visual reference guide throughout the site design process. You will
be given the opportunity to revise it based on my comments and/or any
change in plans that may occur as your site develops.
Keeping in mind that your written plan, sketches, sitemap and (particularly)
storyboards may change, when you turn in your final project, you must
also turn in the most recent versions of these documents. Part of your
final grade for Project 3 relies on how closely the final product matches
the planning materials.
Issues that must be clearly spelled out in your planning materials are
as follows:
- A detailed textual
summary of
how you plan to execute the items from your proposal (typed).
- A flow chart (or
similar graphic) that visually depicts the layout of the proposed site
- Detailed storyboards
(much more detailed than you did for Project 2, because the site will
be more complex) visually depicting what one will find on each page
of the site. Be sure to include navigational items such as graphics
and links.
- Any sketches
or other inspirational materials. If inspired by a website, print out
the page of that website that brought on the inspiration.
Please remember that the more
thought and effort you put into this part of the project, the more smoothly
your entire project will flow. In web design, planning is everything,
and it's very important to have documentation to work from before even
beginning production work on the computer.
You will show your sketches, flowcharts, storyboards, and any
other planning materials to the class during a critique/discussion on
April 7. Please be prepared for this. |
