Assignment 2: Dissect
our Class Website
10 points
Due: February 2,
beginning of class
At this point
you are beginning to understand the importance of having logical directory
structure in a website.
Today in class we learned about
how to find the locations of files and folders within a website just by:
- hovering over links to see
the URL or path that that link is to go in the status bar.
- right-click or control click
to get access to the properties, and the path or URL of the image files.
Your task for Assignment 2
is to "dissect the class website, and create a sketch of its directory
system, similar to the diagram in the MyPets.com example. Use this diagram
as a guide.
Due at the beginning of class
February 2 is a neat and orderly sketch of:

Tips:
- Begin with the home page.
Remember, the home page of a website can either be called index.htm
or index.html. If you test it out, typing in one or the other, you can
deduce which file extension is used.
- Don't forget to include
external, or absolute URL's, such as those listed in the "Resources"
section.
- You don't need to worry
about any of the URL's in the "Students" section, because
they are not yet active.
- You can hand in to me more
than one sheet of paper -- don't try to cram too much in too little
space. For instance you can put the detail of one of the sections, such
as the "Resources" section, on a separate piece of paper.
