Return to Topics Originally this page pointed the user to step by step instructions on installing R and RStudio on both a PC and a Mac computer. Please note, that for either computer, you need to install R before you install RStudio.

Over the years I have tried many approaches to documenting how to set up our system and install both my scripts and the main software. All of those attemps are provided below in the lower portion of the table. The top portion shows my current approach. Assuming that approach works for you there is no need to look at the old attempts.

	Steps involved in the setup
	Create desktop folder Download Roger's scripts (link here ) Extract the scripts and place them in the new folder Download and install R (link http://cran.r-project.org ) Download and install RStudio (link https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download ) Test the installation

Directly download scripts	Download Zip file holding all of the scripts. Once downloaded the files need to be extracted.
