Prerequisite Labels
The College has changed the way that prerequisites are labeled. All students and all applicants who have completed the admissions process are assigned an Academic Level in Reading, Writing and Mathematics. The Academic Level required for a course is specified in the course listing. Most classes require “Academic Level 6” in both Reading and Writing (same as the former “College-Level Reading and College-Level Writing”.)
To view their current Academic Levels, students can log into MyWCC and click the Student Services and Financial Aid tab. Next, they can click Student Records, then View Test Scores and Academic Level.
For the most part, the prerequisite classes and scores have remained the same for Reading, Writing, and Math.
To look at more information about the College prerequisites, and to view an explanatory chart, see http://www.wccnet.edu/academicinfo/creditofferings/courses/prereq/
