WEB 110: Overview
Web Development 1
In this course, students learn web page creation using HTML5 and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Pages are authored in a text editor and published on a web server using an SFTP program.
Major areas of emphasis include creating valid web pages, building an appropriate document structure and using modern formatting techniques.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be proficient in a number of web development topics, including:
- Structuring a web page using semantically correct, valid HTML5
- Applying CSS in various ways to style document content
- Displaying images in an HTML5 document
- Adding links to text and images within an HTML5 document
- Using tables within a web page
- Troubleshooting code issues
- Using an SFTP program to publish code online
