Course Description:

The course covers the principles of information systems for business majors. It provides an overview of information systems including a review of computer concepts, how technology is used in business, the information systems discipline, and the systems development life cycle.

Prerequisites:

A working knowledge of spreadsheet and database software or CIS 100.

Your grade will be based on the following:
2 midterm exams (15 points each) 30%
Final Exam 20%
2 large group projects (13 points each) 26%
In class/take home exercises 24%
Extra Credit Up to 5%
Your final letter grade will be determined as follows:

Miscellaneous:

Outside of class time you may use the college's open labs, such as the library in the GM building or room TI 108 (tel: 973-3632). There is a lab assistant in TI 108 to help you with general computer problems. There are tutors available to help you in the Learning Support Services office in LA 104, telephone 973-3342 and the Women’s Center Office (SC 227).
