Description: Standards-compliant web design using XHTML + CSS
Monday, June 27th, 2005
Check out my links section for example XHTML & CSS for table-based layouts, layouts using relative positioning, and layouts using absolute positioning.
The CSS is internal (the CSS and XHTML are in one file), so you can save each file and easily modify them for experimentation. I even left comments for things I suggest you modify for your education.

W3C offers a great (and somewhat technical) tutorial of character encodings you should check out. If you don't understand it all, that is fine, but you may get a better understanding of what Unicode means, as well as quirk mode and why it is important to declare your encoding.
