W75p - Web Site
Plan and Specification Project
Details for Part
16: Appendix A: Site Mockup

Appendix
A: Site Mockup (a.k.a. Wireframe) -
Build a plain vanilla
HTML site with links. Include only content placeholders and references to images
that may appear. In other words, indicate what goes where in a simple way, and
provide a site which can be used to test the navigability of the site.
What to focus
on:
- Page labeling:
what pages are called, and names of information chunks within the pages
- Navigation:
What to call links to other pages, and where to place them
What not
to focus on:
- Do not include
graphics. At this point, they are a distraction from the main purpose of the
Site Mockup.
- Do not include
body text. Just include filler text (one example is "Lorem ipsum",
a nonsense passage in what looks like Latin, but isn't; see http://nwalsh.com/comp.fonts/FAQ/cf_36.htm#SEC144).
When it's ready:
- Put your Site
Mockup on the student Web site of one of the members of the team
- For the final
Site Plan document, create a cover page for Appendix A, which has:
- Title: Appendix
A: Site Mockup
- URL of the
home page of the mockup
- List of
the pages on the mockup
- Print out each
page of the mockup and include them all in the Appendix, in the order in which
they are listed on the appendix's cover page.
