a. (Windows 95): Click Start | Programs | Accessories | Dial-Up Networkinga. (Windows 98): Click Start | Programs | Accessories | Communications | Dial-Up NetworkingThe Windows 98 version is illustrated here.

b. Double-click Make New Connection. |

c. Select the modem, if not already selected. |

d. Type a name for the connection (i.e. WCC) and click Next. |

e. Type the phone number you want to dial (489-2200 for Ann Arbor) and click Next. |

f. Click Finish after the message indicating that a new connection was created successfully. The dialog box should close, leaving the Dial-Up Networking window open |

g. In the Dial-Up Networking window, right-click on the icon you just created.In the context menu that pops us, select Properties. |

h. Click the Server Types tab, and DEselect (un-check) the following:Log on to NetworkNetBEUIIPX/SPX Compatible |
